We generally work with one encapsulated capsule of placenta. Many families choose placenta encapsulation after birth, and if you already have capsules, simply send us one. If you don’t, you can ask your encapsulation specialist to provide a capsule, or you may set one aside when you receive them. Placenta capsules are typically in a fine, dried-powder form with a smooth, firm texture inside the capsule shell. This makes them easy to measure and incorporate into your jewelry!
For umbilical cord inclusions, about half of a dried cord stump is perfect. After a baby’s cord stump naturally detaches, families often save it in a keepsake box. When fully dried, the cord stump is firm yet slightly fibrous in texture, with a pale, sometimes ivory or light brown color. If you prefer, you can simply send the whole stump, and we will use what is needed and carefully return the remainder with your finished piece.
